Springtime?

Remember the saying about March, "In like a lion, out like a lamb"?  And then "April Showers Bring May Flowers"? Well, after a pretty phenomenal thunder and lightning storm in the middle of the night last night and a very rainy, with a bit of snow, and windy day today, I'm wondering if the lion scared the lamb away.

But never fear, spring will be here in some shape or form. Trees are beginning to burst into bloom, my daffodils are up and the days are getting warmer. To celebrate the spring, my scrapbook groups did the bright and colorful Lollydoodle paper packet this month.

For some hidden photos or journaling, check out the little book!

Not everyone loves interactive elements. Sometimes they are hard to get to when you have your pages in sheet protectors. The page is cute without the hidden book. But if you want to keep the interactive element, I very lightly draw a line around the outside of the book on the sheet protector. Then I remove the page from the sheet protector, place a cutting mat inside the sheet protector and use a craft knife to cut away the square. Easy peasy.

I have a couple of leftover kits if interested. Contact me for more info. Or if you are interested in future scrapbook groups, just let me know.

Take care all and here's to hoping spring is here in full soon.

Spring is in the Air!

Oh, today is a beautiful spring day. I always get so happy when I see these lovelies.

Inspired by spring and by a darling card in a box made by Elaine Leggett, I decided to try my hand at a spring card. Here is my variation on Elaine's card.

You know what is awesome about this card in a box? It actually folds flat to fit in an envelope! Check out the directions at http://www.frenchiestamps.com/2014/01/card-in-box-video.html.

Happy Spring!

Spring Surprises

I love this time of year. The sun is shining more, my daffodils are up and the stores are full of colorful shoes and clothing!

This past Easter weekend was full of sunshine and color. I had family in town, we went shopping (and yes, I have some cute new pink shoes to welcome spring in), my daughter did well at her color guard competition. My husband and my father did a major overhaul on my yard and it is starting to look alive and well (thank you so much to my dad who pruned trees and shrubs and rose bushes for an entire day). But one of the highlights of my weekend was coming home to find this on my kitchen table.
My lovely friend, Dora Glazier, made me these beautiful spring blocks.
Look at the fun detail on these letters. I love the little gardening fork.

And look at the cute card that came with it.

I love having creative friends that love me! I need to pay this loveliness forward. When was the last time you made something fun for someone just because? Maybe you should do that this week. I know from experience that it will make their day!
