Happy Hallows Eve!

From ghoulies and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night, Good Lord, deliver us!
            ~Scottish Saying

Actually, I can't wait for the ghoulies and ghosties to show up on my doorstep trick or treating. We are in full Halloween mode here! No crafting today--just tricks and treats!

Here's a few shots of my own scary creatures.

(It's very difficult to get a serious picture with this bunch.)

Double, Double Toil and Trouble

Round about the cauldron go;
in the poison'd entrail throw.
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot

Double,double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
            -Shakespeare's Macbeth

I received the following thank you from the lovely Sheri Rottler for a project I designed for a scrapbook retreat she did (don't worry--I plan to post the project later when it is a little more seasonally appropriate).

See how clever Sheri was in making the card easy to attach to a bottle!

But the most charming part is the bottle itself.
No, it is not a witches brew, just a bottle of Tabasco sauce, but I absolutely adore it. I am pulling out my Magic Potions stamp set and some Moonlight paper and heading to the store for Tabasco (she made some up with green chili sauce too) to brew up a few for friends. I think you should too.

Happy Halloween!

Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch?

Either way, every witch needs a broomstick and here is a great party favor or easy craft that even kids can make.

Use a brown or black licorice stick and place in a clear bag. I used a 1x8 bag from clearbags.com. You may want to let the licorice sit in the air for a bit so it's not quite as sticky when you put it in the bag.

Cut the following shape using the Cricut Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge. It's on the sewing button but as I don't sew, I don't know what it's actually supposed to be.

I sponged the edges a bit and then attached it to the licorice with a glue dot and wrapped it around, securing it in place with another glue dot. Add a cute stamped tag (I used Perfect Fit--Halloween), tied on with a bit of hemp.
Oh, so cute! Thank you Sheri Rottler for the fantastic idea!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is just a few days away!

And since it is so close, over the next few days, I want to feature a few last minute projects you can pull together for Halloween.

We all love jack o' lanterns so how about a jack o' lantern shaker! This was inspired by the lovely Sara Batkin who knows how to do Halloween right!

Start with a painted dowel, a jack o' lantern face (mine is 3 inches, cut with the Cricut Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge), and a treat cup.
Fill a treat cup with rice or beans or something that will rattle when shaken.
Attach the treat cup to the round circle cut for the back. The treat cup has an adhesive edge so just peel off the protective layer to expose the adhesive before attaching.
Attach the face to the top of the treat cup. I just used glue dots. Attach the dowel.
Add a bit of ribbon and rattle away! Happy Halloween!

Halloween Mini Album

Here's just a little Halloween mini album fun. Made with Moonlight paper and the CTMH File Folios, this is a super easy album.

First of all, take a CTMH File folio.

Turn it inside out so that the tab is on the upper left corner.
Score 7.5 inches from the left side.
Turn it one turn to the right so the tab is now on the right side. Score six inches from the left.
Open the file folio. It should look like this.
Fold up the bottom flap to make a pocket. Fan fold to make the pages.
This is your base. Now decorate.

Once complete, glue your flaps in place. I used micro glue dots just along the seams to keep plenty of room in the pocket.

Here are some close ups of the finished product. Can I tell you I absolutely love the Magic Potions stamp set? Well, I do!

Happy Halloween!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Apparently, today is World Card Making Day! And I didn't even know it until this morning. Good thing I made a card last night so I'd have something fun to post.

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!

Are You Ready for Halloween?

We're getting ready here at the Shupe household. Halloween decor is going up and the Halloween crafting has begun! And of course, Cherish Your Memories in October is all about the spooky! Join us on the 5th, the 6th or the 20th for some Halloween memory making featuring the Moonlight paper packet. It's going to be scary!

Contact me soon if you want to join in the fun. Can't make it? You can order these supplies yourself. All you need is X7161B Moonlight Paper Packet, X7161C Moonlight Complements Dimensional Elements, a little silver glitz glitter gel, a bit of black tulle, a few black sparkles and Z1741 Haunted Assortment to add a little more flair and fun. If you can't make the Cherish Your Memory nights but order the paper and dimensional elements from me this month, I'll send you the cutting guide for these layouts. You may want to consider the Workshop on the Go as it already includes the paper, the sparkles, the Haunted Assortment, a darling stamp set and additional layout ideas.

It Feels Like Fall

This weekend I decided that it feels like fall to me. I do think Fall has to be my favorite season. I love the cooler weather, the approach of the holidays, the color changes, new pencils and all the good stuff that comes with Fall.

I don't have any new Fall artwork to share right now (although I have some Halloween stuff coming up soon!) but this little video from CTMH does. So enjoy the video and the fall ideas and watch for more fun stuff to come!
