Want to Help?

It's been a busy couple of weeks. I helped with my niece's wedding (more to come in a later post), I've had Close to My Heart classes, I've been traveling for work and I'm on an art deadline that is eating up every available spare minute. Every so often, as I verge on a mini-meltdown, my husband asks how he can help. Many times I say, no, thanks, because while he is handy on so many fronts, paper crafting isn't one (although I have handed him a paper trimmer and stacks of paper and told him to start cutting before).

In light of the recent Oklahoma tornado, I think many of us feel the same way. We want to help, we just don't know how. Well, Close to My Heart is providing a way.

Between now and June 30th, Close to My Heart will donate 100% of the profits on this stamp set to the American Red Cross for Oklahoma tornado relief. Just go to this link to order or call me and I'll combine it along with other orders to save you a bit on shipping. At just $2.95, it's an easy and affordable way to help.

Pajama Party

Remember sleep overs when you would stay up all night and eat lots of junk food and giggle and giggle until your sleep-deprived and oh, so patient dad would come downstairs and say, "Please girls, it is time to sleep"?"And you'd quiet down for a little while until you just couldn't control the giggles anymore?  Ahhh, those were the days.

What am I saying? Haven't any of you been to a late night crop or overnight retreat? I would dare to say late nights/sleepovers with girlfriends are alive and well among the scrapbooking set.

Big Picture Classes and Close to My Heart get this. And while this isn't a sleepover, they are hosting a pajama party that you will want to get in on. Just go to this link to learn more and register. It's free, it's fun and if you haven't already made this cute project, you can that night. Oh, and I don't want to forget there will be giveaways from Close to My Heart! Just give me a call, email me or go to my website to order your product to make this. It will come complete with creative prompts to fill your kraft container with and keep your creative mojo alive and well.

Don't want to make this alone? Let me know. You can come on over to my house from 7:00 to 8:00 pm MST on the 30th and laugh and giggle and eat some junk food while we make one together.

Here is the supply list to make one exactly like the one above. It looks really long but I am guessing most of you already own scissors, paper trimmer, etc. and really only need the basic product. You'll have plenty of leftovers to create more or pull together some fun layouts or cards. If you attend Cherish Your Memories scrapbooking nights with me, you're already planning on purchasing Chantilly for the June layouts and you can do this project with enough left over for your June layouts. And you may even qualify for the May Dream Pop special!

24 Years

24 years ago, May 5th, my husband and I got married. And it was a beautiful day!

My crazy friend Denise was there.

And her darling daughter, just a wee little one, Paige was there.

Today, 24 years and 5 days later, I went to the wedding reception of that baby all grown up.

Has it really been 24 years? I swear the two of us haven't changed a bit (well, maybe a little).

And the two of us have definitely not changed a bit.

It's been a good 24 years.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

It's like Christmas for scrapbookers! And it's the day before my wedding anniversary (it was my anniversary last year). So while I may not be doing a lot of scrapbooking today, I'm off to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival with my husband to make some memories and take a few scrapworthy photos.

If you need something fun to do, check out the Creative Crop over at BigPictureClasses. Or take advantage of the beautiful weather to capture a few photos outside. Or open an album or spread some pictures across a table, close your eyes and randomly pick one and scrap it. Or think of a favorite memory and take the time today to journal and scrap it. Just do something wonderful today to create or preserve a memory.

All month long, Close to My Heart is celebrating scrapbooking. Check out the video below and make sure to take advantage of the Dream Pop Paper packet. It's only $10 with a $35 purchase this month and it coordinates beautifully with the stamp of the month.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day and Month!
